All staff take great pride in providing a friendly, comfortable experience for all patients.

PATIENT AND BARIATRIC TRANSFERS

We provide highly responsive non-emergency patient transfer services, working in partnership with Arriva Transport Services,  Yorkshire Ambulance Services, CCGs, private patients, fast track, end of life, social care, rapid response, nursing and care homes. We liaise with agencies, patients and families to meet individual needs. We transfer thousands of patients a year, every single patient is treated with compassion and respect. We have a specialised bariatric ambulance which can be used with patients up to 190kg. Our caring staff carry out safe transfers using this specialised equipment.

LONG JOURNEYS AND MEDICAL REPATRIATION

We frequently carry out long distance patient transfers. Always mindful of the likely additional needs of patients, we plan accordingly, incorporating rest stops, hydration, nutrition and comfort. If required, the bariatric vehicle will be allocated for additional comfort. We provide medical repatriation services within the UK and Europe for people requiring a fast, reliable service to get them safely home. We can liaise with relevant agencies or families to make the process as smooth as possible. We can carry out transfers via ferry, Eurotunnel or airports. Whatever your needs, we are here to help you through.

INFECTION CONTROL

We pride ourselves on our commitment to infection control, and have a facility with its own infection control bay. We use Chemex products to ensure compliance and have procedures in place for all infection control requirements. Dedicated staff are trained in the use of all products and Personal Protective Equipment and also procedures around infections such as MRSA and C. Diff. All vehicles are under a stringent cleaning program which is monitored closely to ensure risk of infection is minimal. Processes are in place at every point, from in between each patient journey to deep cleans to maintain the highest standards of infection control.

Schools & High Dependancy

Warmth and care from the true experts.

We take pride in our working partnership with both Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council. For over 40 years, we have provided special education needs transport for children with disabilities, complex medical needs, or behavioural difficulties. Drivers and escorts receive training, including tracheostomy, epilepsy and autism care. Our friendly staff make transport to settings a happy experience, and their skills in managing risk, conflict, wheelchair securement, and working with children, means we transport safely and securely.

TRAINED STAFF

B N Gibson goes above and beyond compliance for patient transfer as regulated by the CQC. All staff undergo an enhanced DBS check and drivers have driver awareness and passenger specific training. Our Nottinghamshire training facility provides regular refresher and bespoke training from our own training staff and external trainers. Safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults training is provided to all staff and we monitor their understanding of their role and responsibilities. Our training facility is also available for outside companies to use. Just contact us to discuss further.

HIGH STANDARDS

With robust training, policies and procedures, we ensure the highest quality of patient care. All mandatory training is carried out plus additional training that adds value to our service users. All training is competence based as we believe that in addition to qualifications, our team must show a high level of competence. Our registered manager and trainers work together to identify needs and set training for all staff. Professional supervision and checks are regularly carried out in areas such as infection control and safeguarding.

HIGH DEPENDENCY

For years, we carefully transported high dependency patients, becoming renowned for our knowledge and care in this area. Our reliability is unrivalled, and we ensure all our patients are collected promptly. We are dedicated to the training of crews and the upkeep of care plans as required, and to stay efficient, we plan our routes in advance to limit transfer time. Our crews are highly trained for each patient they transfer. Whether it’s an urgent start date, a new care plan or a revised schedule, we will adapt to provide the highest standards in care.
